Kathleen Polo, MD has over thirty years of experience combining traditional neurology with alternative and aesthetic medicine. Initially trained in Neurology, Dr Polo performed some of the early research on the use of Botox for Neurologic problems.
Over the course of her career, she has utilized Botox widely, both medically and cosmetically. She pioneered a medical spa in Colorado Springs in 1998, building on her skills with Botox, and adding fillers, laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, and vascular treatments. After ten years, she moved to the Washington DC area to join her husband, who was still in the Army. She worked with a local medical spa and added skills in weight management and laser liposuction to her armamentarium. Three years later, they were relocated to Tacoma, WA, where she decided to return to the practice of traditional Neurology.
Due to her passion for treatment with Botox, she became the primary specialist in the treatment of Chronic Migraine. Treatments were centered around medication management, Botox, local nerve blocks, and, later treatment with the new monoclonal antibodies which were FDA-approved in 2018. She now joins Dr. Rubin, bringing her expertise to Nouveau MedSpas, desiring to help persons find their best health and well-being.
