Aesthetic Services

Our aesthetic services include chemical peels (Vitalize, Rejuvenize, Kojic & Lactic Acid), microneedling, dermaplaning & microblading.

Aesthetic services mostly include non-surgical treatments that help people look and feel their best. If you have skin imperfections that you’d like to remove through non-invasive procedures, these treatments may be perfect for you. At Nouveau Medspas in Gig Harbor, Washington, some of our aesthetic services include chemical peels, microneedling, dermaplaning, and microblading.

Chemical peels are skincare treatments in which chemical solutions are directly applied to the skin. These skin-safe solutions cause the skin to “blister” and eventually peel off. As the old skin peels off, the new skin is smoother and less wrinkled. There are three common variations of peels, classified as superficial, medium, and deep.

These classifications refer to the depth of the skin penetration caused by the exfoliating agent. Superficial peels treat the outer layer of the skin, called the epidermis, and mildly stimulate collagen formation in the uppermost part of the dermis.

Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and Beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs) are two commonly used peeling agents. They provide significant benefits by helping to smooth rough, dry skin, and improving the texture and tone of sun-damaged skin.

Our peels include:

  • Vitalize – this SkinMedica peel helps to provide vibrant, radiant-looking skin with minimal downtime.* It can smooth the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and roughness.* You will see noticeable results after just one peel, with more compelling results after 3-6 peels.*
  • Rejuvenize – this SkinMedica peel also smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and is used for moderate to severe skin imperfections.* If you suffer from acne scarring, pigmentation, or uneven skin tone and texture, this peel may be perfect for you.
  • Kojic – this peel is used to treat hyperpigmentation and sun damaged skin. It contains a multitude of lightening agents, including kojic, bearberry, and licorice extracts. Peels should only be used every 2-3 weeks, but you will experience clearer, firmer, more youthful-looking skin.*
  • Lactic Acid -Lactic acid exfoliates dead skin, causing the skin to replace itself with newly rejuvenated skin. It fades dark spots and pigmentation to even out your skin tone.*

Microneedling is an anti-aging procedure that helps with fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks. This minimally invasive treatment works on all skin types. Mirconeedling devices are covered with tiny, shallow needles that essential poke little holes in the surface of the skin. These holes are actually therapeutic, and by creating these ‘micro injuries,’ the skin is prompted to stimulate new collagen production. Collagen helps to fill in fine lines and plump up the skin, giving you a more youthful look.

Two to three days after your appointment, the treated area(s) will begin to see an increase in collagen production. Your results, however, will be noticeable around the 4-week mark.* Microneedling is considered a long-lasting procedure and new collagen can last for several years. The procedure can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve your desired results. For collagen induction, we recommend that you start with 3 treatments, with a minimum separation time of 4-6 weeks between treatments. For scars, usually 3-6 treatments are recommended.

Dermaplaning is non-invasive, exfoliation treatment that removes vellus hair (peach fuzz) and the superficial layer of dead skin from the face. Vellus hair on the face tends to collect dirt and excess oil in the follicles. When excess oil sits on the surface of the skin, over time it can cause blackheads or invade your pores. Dermaplaning is perfect for addressing blemishes and oily pores, and by keeping your pores clean, it can simultaneously prevent premature wrinkles.* Instantly brighten your complexion and get an overall youthful glow with dermaplaning!*

Before your treatment, we will cleanse and dry your skin. Next, you’ll sit back and relax as we use a 10 gauge scalpel to gently scrape the top layer of dead skin cells off of your face. Not only does this process remove dead skin cells, but it also triggers the cell regeneration process and allows skin care products to better penetrate your skin.* The procedure usually lasts 30-45 minutes, and afterward, we will moisturize your skin for deep hydration.

Immediately after your treatment, you can expect to see a noticeable glow.* Results typically last for several weeks and up to a month.* Monthly treatments are recommended, although this largely depends on your aesthetic goals. Dermaplaning is ideal for people with drier skin and women who are pregnant or nursing, as it does not use acid-based solutions to exfoliate. This treatment is great on its own, but it can also be coupled with a chemical peel or the HydraFacial for even better results!

Microblading is a semi-permanent technique for enhancing the appearance of the eyebrows. Think of it as a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo that will give you the perfect eyebrows for 1-2 years.* The procedure uses a hand tool with ultra fine needles that form a small, thin blade. Each individual eyebrow “hair” will be gently etched into the skin by creating a natural, wispy hair-like stroke. This will give your brows a realistic, natural look!

The entire procedure usually takes 2 hours, with 30 minutes for numbing, 30 minutes for drawing in the shape and picking the color, and 1 hour for the microblading process. You will get to choose the shape, style, and color of your brows, so you’ll get the look you desire. The procedure is not painful, though everyone’s pain tolerance is different.

Most microblading tattoos can last up to 3 years with a regular touch up around once a year. Microblading is for everyone, although oily skin types don’t usually hold the pigment as well.
