Sculptra

Sculptra is an injectable treatment that uses poly-L-lactic acid to stimulate collagen growth and help restore volume to your face.

We know what it’s like to look in the mirror and feel like your skin just isn’t as youthful and radiant as it used to be. Sculptra dermal treatments are here at Nouveau Med Spas to help turn back the clock and fix your skin’s laxity and loss of firmness. This revolutionary treatment does more than temporarily fill your lost volume; it rejuvenates and revitalizes your skin increasingly over time. Now you look and feel like your best self with continued, longer-term effects.

What Is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an injectable treatment that uses poly-L-lactic acid to stimulate collagen growth and help restore volume to your face. It’s nonsurgical, so there’s no downtime or recovery period required. You can get right back to your daily routine feeling confident and refreshed. Unlike other injectables, Sculptra works gradually over time to help your skin look smoother, firmer, and more youthful. So you look great soon after your appointment and for up to two years after.

How Does Sculptra Work?

Sculptra works by stimulating collagen growth in the deep layers of your skin. This collagen growth helps restore volume and firmness to your face while improving skin texture and tone. During a Sculptra treatment, our trained professionals will carefully inject the filler into specific areas of your face using a fine needle. The treatment typically takes around 30 minutes to complete, and most patients can return to their normal activities immediately after.

Areas That Sculptra Treats

Sculptra is a dermal filler that is specifically designed to treat volume loss in the face. This is a common sign of aging that occurs as the body’s collagen production slows down over time. Sculptra is made of a biocompatible material called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that stimulates the body’s natural collagen production to restore volume and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. At Nouveau, we provide comprehensive Sculptra treatments that are designed to restore volume to the face, reduce wrinkles, and give our patients a more youthful appearance.

The Ideal Sculptra Patient

Sculptra is ideal for you if you’re looking to restore volume to your face in a natural-looking way. It’s especially effective if you’ve experienced significant volume loss in your cheeks, temples and jawline. Good candidates are willing to undergo multiple treatment sessions of this nonsurgical solution to facial aging for optimum results. If you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in Sculptra, such as poly-L-lactic acid or lidocaine, you should not undergo this treatment. Additionally, if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding should also avoid Sculptra injections.

The Sculptra Treatment Process

The Sculptra treatment process typically involves three to four injection sessions spaced several weeks apart. We treat patients every six to eight weeks. You receive one bottle for each age decade, so if you’re 40, we treat you with two bottles and then two additional bottles in 6-8 weeks.

Dr. Rubin will administer Sculptra injections to the target areas during each session using a fine needle. The injections are typically well-tolerated, and you can return to your normal activities immediately after each appointment without pain.

What To Expect After a Sculptra Treatment

After your Sculptra sessions, you may experience some mild swelling or redness in the treatment area. This is normal and should subside within a few days, often sooner. Final results are achieved six months to a year after your final treatment. Every year patients should have 1-2 additional bottles administered for longest lasting results. Be patient, the PLLa stimulates collagen growth over time as you slowly see Sculptra’s effects, and your skin begins to look smoother, firmer, and more youthful.

Recovery After Sculptra

Most patients report that they experience little to no downtime after a Sculptra treatment. Some patients may experience some mild swelling or bruising at the injection site, but this usually subsides within a few days. Patients can apply ice to the area to help reduce swelling and bruising. Avoiding direct sunlight and wearing sunscreen to protect the treated area are essential.
