What to expect during the procedure
The O-Shot® procedure begins with application of topical lidocaine and tetracaine to the clitorus and anterior vagina, we re-apply the topical numbing cream multiple times for 45 minutes to ensure that the procedure is painfree. Next, we perform a simple blood draw in our Gig Harbor medical spa. Using a proprietary technique, natural growth factors including nerve growth factors are separated and concentrated from the patients blood sample. Dr. Rubin then performs a clitoral nerve block to achieve complete anesthesia. The growth factors that are extracted from your blood are then injected into the clitoris and into the G spot in the upper vagina.
Do the injections hurt?
We first apply numbing cream and then perform a clitoral nerve block. In most cases, it is a painless experience.
Are there side effects or downtime?
There haven’t been any known major side effects from these injections. Since it is an injection, there can be some minor localized bleeding, swelling, and pain, but those pass quickly. Since the growth factors are created from the patient’s own blood, there aren’t any reactions to it.
Does the O-Shot® treat urinary incontinence?
Yes, the O-Shot® has been proven to be effective in treating stress urinary incontinence, although results may vary by patient.
