Icon Laser Treatments
The Icon system is an industry-leading aesthetic platform that can address multiple cosmetic concerns–all from one device!
WHAT IS ICON?
At Nouveau Medspas in Gig Harbor, Washington, we provide Icon laser treatments to our patients. The Icon system is an industry-leading aesthetic platform that can address multiple cosmetic concerns–all from one device! The procedure is very popular among patients with sun spots, stretch marks, wrinkles, unsightly veins, acne scars, vessels and more. It can also be used for hair removal on the face and body. Yes, with seven different hand pieces, the Icon aesthetic system offers something for nearly everyone!
HOW DOES ICON WORK?
Icon uses two different wavelengths to address multiple skin concerns. The MaxG wavelength uses IPL (intense pulsed light) to minimize sun spots, hyperpigmentation, spider veins, redness and vascular lesions.* The 1540 fractional laser wavelength relies on non-ablative laser resurfacing to stimulate new collagen and elastin production. This helps to firm up and smooth out your skin, effectively reducing wrinkles, surgical scars, acne scars and stretch marks.*
Using the 1064+ handpiece, we can treat small red vessels and large blue veins. It is also very effective for the removal of unwanted hair in different areas of the body. Icon’s 1064+ handpiece emits highly controlled laser energy into areas of skin imperfection. For vein treatments, the handpiece increases the temperature within the abnormal blood vessel, causing it to shrink. The laser also boosts the production of collagen and elastin for improved skin. This is a great treatment for unsightly veins.
At Nouveau Medspas, we can customize treatments to address many of your aesthetic goals in one sitting. Treatments are minimally invasive and require little to no downtime.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE TREATMENTS?
Icon treatments are performed at our medspa in Gig Harbor. During your initial consultation, we will discuss your aesthetic goals and create a custom treatment plan for you. When you come in for your Icon appointment, we will cleanse your skin and apply a topical numbing cream. This will cool your skin and minimize discomfort during treatment. Depending on your custom treatment plan, we will either use IPL, the 1540 laser, the 1064+ handpiece or all three to improve your skin and provide you with amazing results.* Immediately after the procedure, you can expect mild redness and/or swelling but this shortly subside. You will be free to resume your normal routine after the procedure, but we ask that you keep any treated areas protected from the sun.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM THE RESULTS?
On average, patients notice visible improvements to their skin after the first treatment.* However, a series of 3-4 treatments is typically recommended for optimal results.* If you are looking to treat stretch marks, you may need 5 treatment sessions.* Immediately following treatment, you may notice a darkening of your skin. This is normal and the outer layers will soon exfoliate to reveal smoother, more youthful skin.* New collagen and elastin growth does take time, but as new production continues, you may notice a gradual reduction of wrinkles and skin laxity.*
